In the fall of 2021, we collaborated with local percussionist and music teacher, Chad Komocki from Amistad Caribbean Arts Camp, in Cleveland, to design a three-week immersive Afro-Caribbean course. The course partnered with local legends Sammy DeLeon, Ray Guzmán, and musical director Jackie Warren.
Students connected with an intercultural friend to study AfroCaribbbean poetry, music, and social and cultural contexts that foster resistance in the Caribbean.
